EuroMillions Most Drawn Numbers: What the Data Shows

A look at the most frequently drawn EuroMillions main numbers and Lucky Stars, and what players should make of the statistics.

EuroMillions, played across 15 European countries, has been running since 2004 — giving statisticians over two decades of draw data to analyze. The game draws 5 main numbers from a pool of 1–50 and 2 Lucky Stars from 1–12. Historically, main numbers 50, 44, 23, 19, and 4 have appeared most frequently, while Lucky Stars 2 and 3 hold the top spots among the star balls. The Lucky Stars pool was expanded from 11 to 12 numbers in 2016, which slightly redistributed frequencies — worth keeping in mind when comparing older data with recent results.

For European players, EuroMillions also offers a unique feature: the 'My Million' code on French tickets and equivalent national codes in other countries guarantee at least one millionaire per draw from each participating nation, separate from the main jackpot. This secondary national prize layer makes EuroMillions statistically more generous than its US counterparts in terms of the number of life-changing prizes distributed per draw. As with all lotteries, the frequency data is descriptive rather than predictive — but it makes for genuinely fascinating reading, and understanding the pool sizes helps you appreciate why EuroMillions jackpots grow so large before being won.
